On Saturday, the fifth day, saw the successful completion of the largest constable recruitment exam to date, amidst strict security protocols. Even on the last day of the examination, there was strict security in 1,174 examination centres in 67 districts. During this period, 54 suspicious candidates were also caught in both shifts. There were no reported anomalies during the test, which will set the bar for other states' selection examinations.
The written exam was administered in ten shifts on August 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31 to around 34 lakh participants. The top 72% of applicants arrived at the testing location on Saturday, the last day of the exam.
In all, 48,17,441 individuals were scheduled to take the exam in order to be considered for the 60,244 constable positions. Thirty percent of candidates left the exam while nearly seventy percent of candidates showed up. Currently, 56 applicants, on average, are competing for each constable position.
